How Find A Reputable Security Company

If you're trying to find a reputable security company, make sure they are legal to do business in Texas. Anyone doing Private Security work in Texas has to be licensed with the Department of Public Safety and anyone doing Fire Alarm work in Texas has to be licensed with the State Fire Marshal's Office. (You can be fined up to $10,000 for doing business with unlicensed companies and individuals.) Check online to verify the company and its employees are licensed and in good standing with their perspective regulatory agency. Ask them to see their license pocket card. If they don't have it, don't do business with them.

Check with local and state trade associations. Companies that are involved in their trade associations are better educated, more familiar with local and state codes and will likely be far more reputable than companies that are not. We are a member of the following assocations.

Proprietary Equipment

Many alarm companies use proprietary equipment (that only they can program and supply replacement parts for) to keep the customer enslaved with them. We only use non-proprietary equipment from well know manufactures like Honeywell, GE Interlogix and Napco Security. You're not stuck with us, if you decide we're not a good fit; the equipment is yours and anyone in the security business can program it.
